What was the Role of Women ?

The women of the Middle Ages were told what to do by the male members of their family. The women were expected to obey their father, and all other male members of the family. Any disobedient girls were beaten until they listened. Disobedience from a women member of the family, was seen as a crime against religion. Women did all the cooking and kept the house clean, whilst the male members went to work. They couldn't do what they wanted and they hardly had any rights.
